If your fly box doesn’t have an Adams in it, you better be new—or lying. This is the dry fly that does it all: mayfly imitation, prospecting pattern, all-around trout slayer.
With its balanced gray body, upright wings, and blended grizzly/brown hackle, the Adams is a dead ringer for dozens of common mayflies. But more importantly? It just plain works—even when fish aren’t keyed in on anything specific.
Whether you’re fishing the evening hatch or blind-casting into a shady pocket, the Adams is a safe bet to get eaten.
