The Bead Head Hare’s Ear is one of the most reliable nymph patterns ever created—built to imitate a wide range of aquatic insects from mayflies to caddis and everything in between.
Tied on a barbed hook and offered in multiple sizes, this pattern is now available in both natural and black color options to cover a wide range of water conditions.
The natural version excels in clear water and pressured fisheries where a realistic presentation matters most. The black variation adds contrast and visibility in stained water, low light, or heavy current—giving trout a stronger target to key in on.
A gold bead head provides the weight needed to get down quickly and stay in the strike zone, making it ideal for nymph rigs, indicator setups, or as a dropper below larger flies.
This is a true confidence fly—simple, effective, and proven across every type of trout water.
