The DAT Deceiver is a clean, proven baitfish pattern built to match the profile of the most common forage species in saltwater.
Tied on a Daiichi 2546 hook in sizes #2, 1/0, and 2/0.
This updated version refines the DAT Deceiver into a more balanced, natural presentation with improved movement and profile in the water. Built with flowing fibers and subtle flash, it creates a lifelike baitfish silhouette that tracks true on the strip and stays natural on the pause.
This is a true confidence fly when fish are keyed in on bait. It doesn’t overpower the situation—it matches it.
Where louder flies pull reaction strikes, the DAT Deceiver excels when:
Fish are pressured
Water is clear to lightly stained
Baitfish are present and active
A natural profile outperforms bulk
From redfish and speckled trout to snook and other inshore predators, this is an everyday baitfish pattern designed to get eaten.
