The Headbanger Cranky Shad 5" is the maximum-profile Cranky Shad — the edgy, erratic, evasive side-to-side Headbanger action with a deep, low-frequency vibration that displaces serious water. Built for trophy pike and musky that have seen everything.
Why anglers fish the Cranky Shad 5"
Patented Action Lip — the erratic Headbanger action at full size; remove it for a calmer, shallower glide
5-inch body displaces serious water — impossible for big predators to miss
Rattle balls + holographic foils — sound and lifelike flash under transparent body paints
Slow-sinking design — fishes the 1–6 ft zone with an unreal action even at slow speeds
Rigged with heavy VMC 7548 #1/0 trebles to handle trophy fish
When and how to fish it
Cast it over shallow flats, weed edges, and points where big pike hunt, or troll it — weighted or downrigged — for suspended fish. A straight retrieve produces the action; pauses and twitches are the trigger. In cold or clear water, remove the Action Lip and slow-glide it.
