Humpy – Classic Attractor Dry Fly Finatics Fly Company
The Humpy is a legendary attractor dry fly built for rough water, fast currents, and situations where subtle patterns simply disappear. Known for its stacked deer hair body, dense hackle, and exaggerated profile, this fly rides high and stays visible in broken water where trout have little time to inspect a fly.
Originally designed for high-gradient Western rivers, the Humpy excels as a searching pattern in riffles, pocket water, and cutbanks. Its buoyant construction allows it to float confidently through choppy seams and turbulent runs, making it a dependable choice when prospecting or fishing unfamiliar water.
When trout aren’t keyed on a specific hatch, the Humpy’s bold silhouette and surface presence make it a proven confidence fly that continues to earn eats decade after decade.
