The Pheasant Tail (Standard) is one of the most proven and versatile nymph patterns ever created—designed to imitate a wide range of mayfly nymphs with a natural, lifelike profile.
Tied on a barbed hook and offered in sizes 14, 16, and 18.
Built with natural pheasant tail fibers, this pattern delivers a slim, realistic silhouette that trout recognize instantly. The standard (non-bead) version provides a slower sink rate and a more natural drift, making it ideal for shallow water, light rigs, and pressured fish.
This is a true confidence fly—effective across rivers, creeks, and stillwater when fish are feeding subsurface and keyed in on natural movement.
