Tide Rite R855 Live Bait Mullet Rig

The Tide Rite R855 is a specialized mullet rig designed for rigging whole fresh or frozen mullet as bait for striped bass, bluefish, and other predatory saltwater species. Built with wire leader, a Mustad hook, 3-way snap swivel, and oval float, this pre-tied rig allows a whole mullet to be presented in the current while keeping it elevated off the bottom.

Designed for Whole Mullet: Built specifically for rigging a whole fresh or frozen mullet as bait, making it especially useful when fishing during the fall mullet run.

Mustad Hook: Equipped with a Mustad hook for securing the mullet and providing the primary hook-up point when a predator takes the bait.

Wire Leader: The wire leader provides added resistance against the sharp teeth of species such as bluefish.

Oval Float: An integrated oval float helps keep the mullet elevated off the bottom and allows the bait to move naturally with the current.

3-Way Snap Swivel: The 3-way snap swivel provides connection points for your main line and weight to complete the bait-fishing setup.

Built for Striped Bass & Bluefish: Designed for presenting whole mullet to striped bass, bluefish, and other saltwater predators that feed on mullet.

Rigging the Mullet: Remove the hook and pass the metal skewer through the mullet from the mouth and out through the anal vent. Slide the bait down toward the hook and insert one of the two hook points into the mullet's tail. When a predator picks up the bait, it strikes toward the tail where the hook is positioned.
